My name is Rich Mistkowski. I am the owner of Proforma Marblehead Marketing, as well as Majestic Meadows (A short term rental near Ocala, FL) I am also the dad of Matthew (Mattie), who is 18 and was born with down syndrome.

When Mattie was born, it was my hope that I would be able to teach him throughout his life. Never, in my wildest dreams, did I imagine that it would ACTUALLY be Mattie who would be the teacher! Oh sure, I’ve played a very pivotal role in Mattie’s life, but the things that I’ve learned from Mattie have been incredible and way too many to list. But trust me, it’s a long list!

Team 21 is a program that will help develop young people with special needs & abilities into successful business people and leaders. The goal is to focus on what they CAN do NOT what they can’t do. This program will help these young people with confidence, communication, business and leadership skills. 

My son, Mattie, was born with Down syndrome. Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused when abnormal cell division results in an extra full or partial copy of chromosome 21. This extra genetic material causes the developmental changes and physical features of Down syndrome.

Down syndrome varies in severity among individuals, causing lifelong intellectual disability and developmental delays. It's the most common genetic chromosomal disorder and cause of learning disabilities in children. It also commonly causes other medical abnormalities, including heart and gastrointestinal disorders.

  3 Reasons…

1. Quite honestly, I’m tired of these very special people NOT getting the chances in the workplace that they deserve. Each one of us are different. Each of us. Whether we have special needs or not. Each of us deserves a chance to lead as independent a life as we possibly can. My goal is to help these special young people with tools that can help get them to the next level. And the next level. And the next level!
2. Each of us have gifts. Some of the gifts that these young people have are amazing. My son is amazing. Exhausting, but amazing! 😊 Mattie has people skills that I could ONLY dream of having. He needs guidance and support of course. But I’ve never met a person more comfortable in his skin than Mattie. He’s truly a gift. 
3. Fun. I’ve spent a lot of time around the special needs population. And I’ve had a lot of fun! Mattie is responsible for no less than 10,000,000 smiles in his life. I want others to get to a chance to experience it. 

 To be honest with you I have no idea. This is a program in development. I’ve owned my own business for over 20 years. I’m tired of doing things the same old way. I want to try something new, have some fun, and give back to a very special group of people.
